"Development of the first edition was made possible with underwriting from The Mosaic Fund, The Samuel Pardoe Foundation, and other donors, through the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance. The publication was also financed in part with federal funds from the National Park Service, U.S. Dept. of the Interior, through the New Hampshire Division of Historical Resources / State Historic Preservation Office; and support form UNH Cooperative Extension in the developmet and publication of the book. The second edition of the book was supported by the Conservation and Heritage License Plate Program (Moose Plate) at the New Hampshire Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, the Merciful Restoration Fund at the New Hampshire Division of Historical Resources, the New Hampshire State Grange, the Moultonborough Heritage Commission and the Stratham Heritage Commission. Individual supporters include Colin and Paula Cabot, Joe and Maggie Moore, Rebecca Mitchell, Carl Schmidt, and especially Elizabeth H. Muzzey, who devoted much time to working out the financial support and contractual arrangements. Several of these donors made their gifts in honor of John Porter, and strong interest in helping to save more old barns. Generous investments over time from Colin and Paula Cabot, Jane and Peter McLaughlin, and the N.H.
